Opportunities to become involved in the implementation of the Vital Church Initiative are numerous. The VCI report and prescriptions were approved by the congregation on October 23 by eighty-three percent (83%) of members present at a special Church Conference. Prescriptions call for the creation of a number of teams and work has already begun to fill those roles. By November 1, the 10-person VCI Leadership Team and Pastor Bill Bills will have met three times to identifying people with the skills and aptitude to fill those roles.
Priority attention is being given to prescription three: Sunday Morning Experience, page 5 of the report. Pastor Bill is charged with creating volunteer teams in conjunction with UUMC congregants. If interested, after prayerfully considering whether God is calling you to be a part of shaping UUMC’s future in this way, be sure to let Pastor Bill know in the near future (email@example.com or 517.351.7030)
Church members and friends may pick up a copy of several VCI reports in the Gathering Space of the church, or you may have them emailed to you. If you would like a PDF version of any of the reports, please send your request to <firstname.lastname@example.org>.
