“Never be afraid to trust an unknown future to a known God.”
~ Corrie ten Boom
UUMC has voted on the path our future will take, approving the Vital Church Initiative (VCI) report and prescriptions by a wide margin. Eighty-three percent (83%) of members present at Sunday’s Special Church Conference voted in the affirmative. The final tally was 127 yeahs, 26 nays and 1 abstention.
Work now begins on implementing the various pieces outlined in the VCI prescriptions. Among the first tasks is the creation of a number of teams each charged with implementing different components of the prescriptions. Please prayerfully consider if God is calling you to be a part of shaping UUMC’s future through service on one of these teams. More information will be coming soon about how this process will work.
None of us knows where this path will lead, but we have committed to walking it together. Our ultimate success, and the future of UUMC, depends on our willingness to engage in the process, communicating our ideas thoughtfully and respectfully, trusting that God will walk beside us throughout the journey.
